You asked if I’d give us a chance, but this love could not be
Although my heart was calling out, you were not right for me.
Perhaps another time or place, perhaps another world
But in this life, where we are now, I cannot be your girl.
I’d love to know what I’d have felt if I’d let you inside
And I’d love to know where we’d have been, if only we had tried.
